‘P1B’ is not the name of the work, but a way to call it before its real name appears.
I wanted to paint big scale in the small home studio of our small home and finaly last week I streched a relatively big canvas on the only suitable wall that luckily happens to be the wall in my studio. The drawings for it were ready, but then I reconsidered, I didn’t like my idea anymore. So for a few days it was there – big, white, patient and calling me silently. Discouriged as I was with the lack of ideas that appealed to me or felt like doing, I was starting to get irritable and mean.
Happily, though, while taking a midday nap (don’t judge – going to bed really late and getting up really early is my way of life and an afternoon nap is a must) the vision of what I want to make appeared. It was not what I expected or wanted exactly, it was not new – it was close in subject to the previous drawings I dismissed and there wasn’t anything striking about it. But for some reason it moved me to act – it made me get up and start work on it.
